A close examination, a proper clean, and the deeper care gum health sometimes calls for, the treatments that quietly keep a smile healthy long before anything feels wrong.

Azul Dental Center — Agadir

Care at Azul Dental Center

The groundwork of
a healthy smile.

A check-up, a scaling, root planing for gum health, AquaCare for stains, the small, regular visits that do more for your teeth than almost anything else.

At Azul Dental Center in Agadir, every visit starts with a proper look before any treatment begins. If something more involved turns up, a filling or a root canal, for instance, we'll walk you through it as part of our wider general dentistry care.

Routine checkups shouldn't be hard to fit in — we're open evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays for cleanings and exams.

Diagnosis

Dental Check-up

Decay and gum disease rarely announce themselves. A check-up is a full examination of your teeth, gums, bite and any existing dental work, close enough to catch what's easy to miss, and early enough that it's still simple to treat, often with nothing more than a straightforward filling.

Digital X-rays come into play only when something needs a second look, typically once a year, and are reviewed with you the same day.

In Practice

  • A full assessment of teeth, gums and bite
  • Review of any existing fillings, crowns or bridges
  • Digital X-rays, when clinically indicated

Plaque & Tartar Removal

Scaling

Plaque hardens into tartar in places a toothbrush can't reach, along the gumline, between teeth, behind the lower front teeth. Scaling is the treatment that removes it, using fine instruments to clear the tooth surface back to smooth, healthy enamel.

Most patients need one roughly every six months, though your dentist will tell you if your teeth are asking for it sooner. Left too long, the same buildup scaling removes is what leads to gum disease, and eventually to root planing.

In Practice

  • Removal of plaque and tartar above the gumline
  • Polishing to smooth the tooth surface
  • Usually completed in a single visit
  • Typically needed every six months

Periodontal Treatment

Scaling & Root Planing

When plaque and tartar reach below the gumline, scaling alone isn't enough. Root planing goes further, smoothing the root surface itself so inflamed gums have a clean surface to reattach to, treating the cause of gum disease, not just the symptoms.

It isn't part of a routine visit. We recommend it only when a check-up shows signs of gum disease, and we'll show you exactly what we're seeing before we go ahead.

In Practice

  • Cleaning below the gumline, not just above it
  • Smoothing of the root surface to help gums reattach
  • Recommended only when gum disease is present
  • Local anaesthetic for comfort, when needed

Stain Removal Treatment

AquaCare Stain Removal

Coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, all of it sits on the surface of a tooth long after a regular clean. AquaCare lifts it with a controlled stream of water, air and fine powder, no drill, no discomfort, just a visibly brighter finish.

It stands on its own. Book it after a check-up, alongside a scaling, or entirely by itself if stains are the only thing on your mind.

See the full AquaCare treatment page for more details.

Good to Know

  • Lifts surface stains from coffee, tea, wine and tobacco
  • Gentle air-polishing, no drill involved
  • Can be combined with other treatments or booked alone
  • Leaves teeth visibly brighter and smoother to the touch

Why It Matters

Small problems stay small

Caught early, a cavity is a simple filling. Left alone, it can become a root canal, or worse.

Tartar doesn't remove itself

Once plaque hardens, only a scaling can take it off. No amount of brushing at home will do it.

Gum disease is reversible, early

Caught at the check-up stage, gum disease responds well to treatment.

A smile that looks as good as it feels

Polishing and AquaCare complete the treatment, leaving your teeth feeling clean and looking their best.

We'll tell you what your smile actually needs

Some visits end with just a check-up. Others call for a scaling, root planing, or AquaCare, sometimes more than one. There's no default plan here, only what your teeth and gums need, explained plainly before we start.

Common questions

What patients ask us

Most patients benefit from a visit every six months. If you have gum disease, a higher cavity risk, or certain medical conditions, we may suggest more frequent visits; if your oral health is very stable, less often may be appropriate.

Most patients find it comfortable. You may notice mild sensitivity near the gumline, particularly if it's been a while since your last visit, but it settles quickly and isn't a painful procedure.

Scaling removes plaque and tartar above the gumline as routine care. Root planing treats buildup below the gumline and smooths the root surface, and is only recommended when there are early signs of gum disease.

Yes. AquaCare's air-polishing lifts surface stains from coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco without a drill, leaving teeth brighter and noticeably smoother.

Not necessarily. We take digital X-rays only when clinically indicated, typically once a year or when we need to look more closely at something not visible during the exam.
